The Thin Red Line

Everyone is scared of it, everyone, who is at a nine to five job in India, don't know about other countries. It is a rule that if an employee comes after the deadline, mostly 10 o clock in a 9 to 5 shift, gets a red line on the register or the attendance book, and almost all get jitters from it as it means a salary cut for the day. To avoid this, people go a long way. Here are a few live examples:
1) My dad, a few years back, used to get his breakfast packed, and have it on the train. Haven't seen that happening that in the last few years.
2) When in my diploma college, my friends and I were waiting at the ground floor of our college building, to meet one of our professors. Well, he came rushing on his motor bike, we greeted him good morning, but he was in such a hurry that he didn't even look at us, and climbed the flight of stairs, four steps at a time. Well, we didn't realise at that moment, but when we went behind him, we saw him heaving a sigh of relief, he dodged the red line by a minute! What next, he went into his cabin as he opened his bag, took out his belt from the bag, and wore it. looking happy as ever !

Wishing you a Happy New Year ahead !!

Poor Driver

I have been posting my rickshaw rants in some of my previous posts, this one is a bit different. I got a rick from some place to get home, before I got into the rick I had to tell him the destination, he was wearing a hearing aid in one ear, with those old ear phones, with the machine hidden in his pocket. The first time I told him the address, he didn't get me and extended his ear towards me, but the other one, not the one with the ear phone, strange. The second time he nodded yes, and turned the meter down. Now to confirm a turn, he used his hands to communicate, like he pointed towards left if he wanted to take a left turn. Without much problems I reached home, the meter showed 24 Rupees as the fare, I handed him 30 Rupees, and immediately he moved his head out of the rick and spat out his paan, just to say "I don't have change". And all this time I thought he was deaf and mute. hehe !!

Saturday Night Traffic

The title of the post is apt.
Its 0050 hrs in the morning, and the road in front of my apartment is filled with vehicles doing their beep beep, bamm bamm.
What would the people stuck in their car which is stuck in a traffic jam feel on a Saturday night? Well, they are still in Saturday and will go to Sunday when they wake up tomorrow morning. For that matter, me too!!
I think I need some sleep. Good Night.

Days after exams

Whats happening these days? All this:

Saturday.
0945 hrs: I have reached college by now, was sitting on one of the benches in a class, decided to check out my examination hall. By the time i reached there, i was sneezing like hell, my nose started running like a Monster truck, and my eyes tried to close down. Shee, this is not the way I would like to write a four hour Machine Design paper. Any ways, I kept my books away and was waiting for the exam to start.
1030 hrs: It started, the paper was good, though with a few surprises, and the sneeze attack stepped down a little, but my nose is still running.
1430: The paper went good. And I went home.
1500 hrs: Reached home, Any one else would have slept, I tried out a few thing on my computer I was waiting to do for a few months. And was on the computer for the rest of the day.
2330: Saw Swades for the 24th time.

Sunday.
1000hrs: Woke up with a choked nose and throat early as I used to during the exams, had Lunch, slept till about Five.
1730: Reached college for our HOD's farewell, stayed there till 8. Saw another movie and slept.

Monday.
My voice has gone. The day's activities were a staggered mix of Computer, television, newspaper. And I don't remember when and where I was through out the day (but was at home, obviously).

Tuesday.
Home today too. Feeling bored already. Read a few pages of The Art of the Deal. Made a small video out of my class pikchars.
